Old Article - Rockin Machine

Posted by highimpactimagery on July 6, 2009 at 6:22 PM Comments comments (0)

One of the older articles I wrote from the Rockin Machine Event held by the Glen Morris Mecenaries and Flagswipe Paintball.

The Rockin Machine event concept was a revolution in the world of paintball, Combining Heavy Metal Music and the sport of paintball to shoot a music video. It was a great day of paintball, to there was no losers, since the whole blue team was assimilated in to the red team. Members of the Glen Morris Mercenaries, Team CANTRU, Shadow Squad and the Task Force Raiders were on hand to help referee, general, take pictures, and play.

The event was sponsored by West49 and Flagswipe paintball with prize packages donated by both companies. Which were handed out to the muddiest players, as well as the best costume award. The bands “She Likes Cloth” and “Subliminal Hate Machine” rocked the makeshift stage all day long. I sat down with Subliminal Hate Machine after the event to get their thoughts, “Being the first outdoor gig for the band, and the first event of its kind, we weren’t sure what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised with the paintballer’s today and want to thank them all for helping us shoot our new video”. Be sure to check them out on facebook by searching up “Subliminal Hate Machine”, as there new CD is coming out in late 2009.

Lots of media was on hand including two of Ontario’s scenario paintball communities leading media companies, Visual Echoes Photography, and High Impact Imagery. As well as almost every Glen Morris Mercenary with a video camera to get footage for the video. This will be released on YouTube, as well as on the Glen Morris Mercenaries website (www.glenmorrismercenaries.com) soon.

Blue scored a lot of points early in the day out by lunch the score was even at 400 points. After lunch saw a long hard battle by both teams to extract the hostage. Both teams succeeded in an extraction keeping the score tied for the final battle. With smoke popping left and right, the red team pushed the blue back, slowly assimilating them into the red team. At the end of the game, every player was on the winning red team.

Canada Day

Another Canada Day Come, and Gone. A day with great fun with friends and family spent celebrating the birth of our great nation. How did I spend my Canada Day? I was hanging out with Theory of a Deadman, Crash Parrelel and others in the V.I.P. Tent at the Brantford Celebrations. Both the guys from Crash Parralel and Theory of a Deadman put on Amazing shows for the people of Brantford, and are in general awesome guys.

In honor of the Canada Day Celebrations I decided to give out some of the "Proud" T-Shirts, In support of the military families fund (If you recieved a T-Shirt in the giveaways and wish to donate to The Militaries Family Fund, go over to http://www.cfpsa.com/mfamily/ and put in a donation on behalf of High Impact Imagery/Fear Gear Clothing) If you were in the crowd in Brantford and got a Proud Shirt. Give us a shout! We would love to hear from you on what you think of the shirts.

Whats Next? Not sure... Seem to need a new phone as mine did not like paintball to much. We will be continuing to cover events over the summer, Though not as many as the spring. As many of our team members are busy with other work, vacation, and other things. Through out the summer, I am mainly going to be "Living Unplugged". Though I will be stopping by from time to time to update the site, and talking to all my friends.

On a side note: Yes, It is true, My computer seems to hav a virus which makes the programs/websites I visit most unaccesible (aka Facebook, Email, TechPB, CS4 and most recently, EWC...) But, Luckily it still allows me to update my site (Though I have been making a point of doing most of the changes offline first and then doing it in one clean sweep so not to make it so I spend much time on the site)

(Also, Pictures should be up within about a week or so, Depending on my internet situation)

Ninja Paintball Tank Review

Posted by highimpactimagery on June 5, 2009 at 9:27 PM Comments comments (0)

Ninja Paintball Tank Review

Tank - 13-3000

Markers - Azodin KP, PMI Tracer.

Period of use - Over the course of CPX Living Legends so far.

I got to pick up a brand new Ninja Paintball tank at Living Legends from Ray at Ninja Paintball, and I said I was going to put up a little review on the tank. So here goes. I was able to use the tank on both the Azodin Khaos Pump, and my custom Tactical PMI Tracer, My first impression of this tank is simply, Wow. Kudos goes out to ninja for making a tank that is built for me, Not to knock any other tanks in this range, but I have tried other 13-3's, and None were up to this standard. Now lets do some Pros and Cons.

Pros:

Customer Service: Most Important thing in my opinion when dealing with paintball gear is, "Does it have a good customer service backing?" I met Ray through TechPB and he always seemed like a cool guy, I finally got the chance to catch up to him in person at CPX over the past weekend, And the guy is definitely cool in person as well. Sadly I didn't get to take him up on his offer of a quick tour of the Ninja Paintball factory while I was in Chicago. But back to Customer Service. I have heard and seen many good things from Ninja in the ways of customer service, They are players themselves, so they know what its like not to have a working tank. So they will do pretty much anything to get it back and fixed in your hands as quickly as possible so you can get out to the field playing again with confidence in your gear.

Durability: Another thing that I noticed in my weekend of playing with the Ninja Tank (As well as rocking an awesome Ninja Headband). Ninja makes Durable Products! I put my gear through hell and highwater (Sometimes quite literally... Though I do not reccomend it) and the tank withstood it all. Dropped, Heavily Impacting my jaw (Think that hurt me more then the tank, thankfully), Superman Diving (Numerous times) Getting thrown into the net because I needed to use both hands on the camera for a second to get a good picture... Everything! Let me make this clear (again..) Durability Tests, Are based off me, If it can withstand me.. It can withstand whatever you can dish out. So play hard, and play with confidence.

Cost: In these times of economic uncertainty it is good to see an industry leader like Ninja come out with a line of High Quality, and Very reasonably priced tanks. In the market, Tanks of these quality sell for 200$ or more, So save your money, And check out the Ninja Tanks that are priced mostly in the 150$ range. High Quality, Great Value, Way to go Ninja.

Cons:

There cheap? I truthfully haven't found any cons with these tanks, When I do, You all will be the first to know!

Thats all for now, Play Safe, Play Hard.

The end... Im sad that its over, but Loved it.. I picked up a lot of new gear, Met and Played alongside, and against a lot of great people. I ultimately think this event was well worth the trip, And if you are considering going next year, DO IT. No matter where in the world you are, No matter if you fly, drive, go by boat, take a bus, Heck, Start walking towards CPX right now if you have to. Its worth it..

That is all I am writing for now.. Pictures will be up tomorrow..

- Since I couldn't post pictures up on the site, The day 3 pictures are up in the Paintball Photos section of the forums of www.TechPB.com -

Go check them out now..

Had an amazing time playing with you all, whoever was at the event. (And still a little peeved that I missed what turned out to apparently be the biggest game at Flag Raiders paintball, where apparently there were 600+ players!!)

CPX Living Legends -To the Field and Back-

After checking in to the Hotel I am staying at in Joliet, I proceeded to head on out to CPX Sports, To walk around the field, Meet up with the group, Register, Pick up my media pass, get a general feel for what I am doing tomorrow, And of course, Getting all you guys the first peaks at the tradeshow..

As I reflect on what all happened today, the one word that keeps popping into my head is simply.. Wow!, Over and over again. It was a phenominal day at the field, I walk up and introduce myself, and I feel as If I have been hanging out with these people for months.. Yet its my first time meeting them in person...

Im looking forward to tomorrow, Where I get to meet up with even more people, cruise the tradeshow, Test out my new marker.. And I should be testing out a pinokio as well, Which, Is late overdue, But, for all the readers, I will review it!

I am very happy to say that I met two of my paintball "idols", for lack of a better word at this time.. Gary Baum (Of http://www.paintballphotography.com/  ) and  Rob "Tyger" Rubin (Of WebDog Radio). These are two of the most influencial people that have affected the way I have gone with paintball.. If it wasn't for Tyger and Mike (Of TechPB)'s awesome youtube videos, I probably would not be playing paintball still, There knowledge of the sport has helped me out greatly in the past, And I hope it can continue to help in the future. And if it wasn't for Gary Baum, I possibly would not have gotten into Paintball Photography seriously.. After seeing some of his shots.. I was hooked, and ever since then it is what I have wanted to do for a living.  So, If any of you are reading this... Thank You.

I am going to be watermarking the pictures and posting them up now, Before I have to pass out from exhaustion.. Pictures should be up within the next half an hour or so of the first day fun times.. "Adventure of the TechPB Monkeys"
